after a strong release by soul in the holes disco godfather sadar bahar, kalakuta soul records returns with a strong three tracker by the hands of west atlantis best kept secret cuttlefish & asparagus that celebrate their third release on the label. this time, the duo dedicates the a side of this three-tracker to never ending dances with a touching vocal that goes through body and soul. on the other hand, the b side is a sure shaker and a massive dancefloor oriented set of tracks that brings out the boogie in every single person in the club.

roman poncet returns to figure with another batch of deadly efficient tools featuring four productions in his stripped-back signature style. opener vicious sets the stage with a snappy and muscular breakbeat holding the rhythm down tightly until creeping synths reveal the track’s true, eery intentions. marguerite is more welcoming, with gentle percussion and dubbed out chords making for a loop that could go on forever. the b-side is another example of skillfully sculpting sounds both lean and powerful. on atome i ricocheting synth echoes and fine layers of percussion sway back and forth until they collapse into an extended atmospheric breakdown. starting out reduced to its very nucleus, the second version slowly lets an electrifying tension fill the blank spaces. comprising a set of bare-bone grooves as slick as they are powerfully moving, roman poncet delivers another ep in true figure fashion that is sure to stay in the bag for a long time.

austrian shooting star project niereich was founded in 2010. as dj/live act, producer and label co-owner of audio stimulation recordings he serves as a true multi-purpose weapon. while playing at the biggest in- and outdoor events and his releases being supported by the biggest dj s across the globe, he undoubtedly set his mark on the international dance scene. niereich is known to be rocking as there s no tomorrow. this urban format ep is packed with techno bliss and consists of 3 strong, dark and deep tracks.

taking a brief detour from his normal abrasive distorted sound, pinion showcases his broad spectrum as an artist with the desire ep. the title track, desire (half measure),starts out of the gate with a thunderous half beat 808 coupled with a swinging hihat pattern that slowly works ethereal vocal slices into the forefront, accompanied with a modulating synth pad that evolves into a defining melody. the sister track, desire (full measure), has very similar characteristics as the original, but allowing a little more edge for the dancefloor to build on. the third original track, recollection shifts gears quite drastically with a 135 bpm stormer with enough soul and melody to make the uncharacteristically fast tempo seem inconsequential. last, comes kyle geiger on remix duties to round out the ep with a housier take on desire, but still enough bite to fit nicely into any techno set.
